THE BROTHERHOOD MISSION HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

23 March 2026

Putting Mental Health Support Where It’s Needed Most.

The Brotherhood Mission is a campaign dedicated to promoting mental health awareness—particularly among men—and reducing alcohol-related harm through practical, life-saving change. At the heart of our campaign is a simple but powerful idea:

To make it a legal requirement for mental health helplines to be displayed on all alcohol products.

Why It Matters?

Alcohol is often closely linked with mental health struggles, especially among men, where stigma and silence can make it harder to seek help. In moments of difficulty, people may turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism. Yet, at the very point where support could be most needed, there is currently no clear signposting to mental health services on alcohol packaging.

While alcohol labels provide information on units, calories, and physical health risks, they do not offer any direct guidance for those experiencing emotional or psychological distress.

We believe this is a critical gap.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every alcohol product carries a clear, visible message that connects people to support.

A simple addition—such as a helpline number or message of reassurance—could:

  • Encourage individuals to seek help

  • Break down stigma around mental health

  • Provide immediate access to support in vulnerable moments

  • Potentially save lives

Our Mission

We envision a future where every alcohol product carries a clear, visible message that connects people to support.

A simple addition—such as a helpline number or message of reassurance—could:

  • Encourage individuals to seek help

  • Break down stigma around mental health

  • Provide immediate access to support in vulnerable moments

  • Potentially save lives

Our Approach

We are building a movement that combines awareness, advocacy, and action:

  • Public Campaigning – Raising awareness through social media, community engagement, and partnerships

  • Petitioning for Change – Gathering public support to demonstrate demand for policy reform

  • Collaboration – Working with mental health organisations, public health bodies, and community groups

  • Engagement with Decision-Makers – Reaching out to policymakers and stakeholders to push for legislative change

Why Now?

Mental health challenges are increasing, and the conversation around men’s mental health is more important than ever. At the same time, alcohol remains widely accessible and commonly used—often in moments of stress, isolation, or emotional difficulty.

This creates a unique opportunity to introduce a small but meaningful intervention at a point of real need.

How Can You Support?

Change happens when people come together. You can support The Brotherhood Mission by:

  • Signing and sharing our petition

  • Raising awareness of the campaign

  • Starting conversations about mental health

  • Partnering with us to expand our reach

A Simple Change. A Real Impact

We believe that adding mental health support information to alcohol labels is a practical, achievable step that could make a lasting difference.

Because in the moments that matter most, even a small message can change everything.
